Lord Adair Turner of Ecchinswell is the former Chairman of the Financial Services Authority and the Climate Change Committee in the United Kingdom, stepping down in spring 2012. He was Chairman of the House of Lords Pensions Commission from 2003 – 2006, and Chairman of the Low Pay Commission from 2002 – 2006. He is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for New Economic Thinking and a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and at Cass Business School. Prior to September 2008, Lord Turner was a non-executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank, United British Media and Siemens, Vice-Chairman of Merrill Lynch Europe, Director General of the Confederation of British Industry, a Director in Eastern Europe and Russia for McKinsey & Co. from 1982 to 1995, and Chair of the Overseas Development Institute.
