This event will explore the nature and social function of money, and identify present and future opportunities for interdisciplinary legal-economic research on related topics. Questions to be addressed include:
- What is Money? How does something become money?
- What is the role of law, and/or the state, in creating monetary systems?
- How do legal and economic perspectives on money differ? How may they be combined to reveal new insights into the modern global economy?
The seminar is free and open to the public. It is closed to press and social media. The event will not be livestreamed or recorded. A write-up of the event under the Chatham House Rule will follow.
